Today I was in MSP and saw a UA A319 (N841UA) land and then taxi away from the UA gates, while on my plane on Ch9 I heard a UA MX call sign, I thought that that was wierd for MSP and could not find any out of the ordinary UA flights leaving MSP, why was this plane there is my question, and I know that Bengals do not fly UA

This was the inbound I saw

I am just wondering why it did not go to the UA gates after landing

Maybe the gate was occupied. Sometimes a gate may appear to be open but there could be an issue with the jetway that prevents it from being usable.

What call sign do you associate "mtc"? The T or Tango Identifier is not a "maintenance" moniker.

Well all three gates were empty at that time and about 25 min later 2 gates were used for a DEN and ORD flight

I just heard "UA Maintence requesting taxi clearance"

The plane ended up parking at E3 (a Continental gate) - was a bit strange seeing it sitting at E3 as I walked past (I was on the DEN flight). Things got a little dicey yesterday since our DEN flight was delayed an hour due to mx, and I think the other 2 UA gates were full - normally it wouldn't be as big of an issue as the DEN flight would be gone by then.

No idea - my guess is they were holding it for an inbound flight - I know there was an ORD flight due in after ours.

What seat were you in? I was in 12A...
