I thought this was a very interesting article fom CNN.com where they interviewd a commuter pilot and he told them about his day. After reading the article, there's one of those "Quick Votes" where you can vote on whether or not you'd like to have a work schedule similar to a commuter pilot's.

I guess when I was younger, I might have enjoyed a work schedule like that, flying all different hours of the day or night and traveling to different places and staying at hotels, but at this point in my life I think I'm too set in my ways and schedule to deal with the variables in the pilot's schedule.

I think it could be nice with a job where you don't work from 9 to 5 behind a desk all day.
BTW, great article.

With a few work years under my belt, close to 20 now, I have found I prefer a steady, job. I like the same hours, same location, etc. I like the idea of having several days off in a row, regularly, that part of the Pilot's life seems good. The rest of it, the constant hotels, unfamiliar food situations and all, that would get old.

I noticed that the pilot in the story has his "sameness" rituals, he says he gets his cup of coffee first thing, every day. Those kinds of things are good to keep frenetic days from seeming too out-of-control.
