784 is also in new colors.

The new F/C seats will be installed in the first 777 in Feb10.

There are only two 320s in all-Y configuration when I checked four days ago. I'll check to see which ones.

There was also a 757 that went back to the lessor as UA could not get them to agree to extend the lease.

I flew in one of the 752's with new interiors on DEN-ORD yesterday and I was very impressed. Overall a comfortable, very "new" feel and smell to the aircraft and the power ports made me want to figure out what cord/adapter to buy to power up my lame laptop battery to use it during flight.

Does anyone know what you have to buy in order to use the power ports? There are some strange looking connections/"holes" in the new power ports but I want to use them to plug in laptops, iPods, etc.

Thanks and Happy Holidays everyone,

Barton D

If its like the other narrowbodies in the UA fleet, then its emPower. I bought an adaptor from Dell for my laptop. Works great. You might also be able to get a generic model, but my IT department prefers us to use the real thing.

did UA decide to add headrests to these seats? I thought it was good looking seat but was confused as to why UA didn't add the headrest like they did on the new A320 interiors...

It's in for mods in SFO, so there are no more planes flying in all Y configuration.

I can't wait for them to all be finished!
If the first 777 is due to be reconfigured on 2/10, how long do they expect it to take to finish all 777's that get the new seats?
Of the international 747's and 767's that have new F and C' are they planning to re-do all Y in the new leather too?
(very important: as nice as the re-fit looks, how can they compete with no AVOD's in international?) also....as someone said in this thread and one other this week, what about United's great headrests with the bend out winglets?
Sorry one last question: I have a feeling that once the economy rebounds (pray, pray, pray) I think UA will pull some of those 747's out of the dessert. What do you all think are the odds of that happening and where would the go? India again? Singapore non-stop IAD?
Thanks, this was very exciting reading!

I can't believe the 772 retrofits have been delayed until Q2. I'm tired of flying convoluted routings just to get the new C. Hurry up United!

Next flight: UA 726/84 SFO-EWR-TLV

The first one goes in in February and should be out by March/April after that they should be doing two or three at a time. UA is also doing at least the first 20 in house at SFO.

That would be N531UA.

Is it true then, UA is down to 96 757s?

It's true UA sent one 752 back to the lessor.

F/J is AVOD...Y on the 777 should be.

Does anyone know if N187UA has been retired as of yet?

I saw an old livery 744 by the UA hanger at ORD a couple weeks ago...I assume that was 187, but other than that, I don't know anything else.

Props to United for their policy of upgrading equipment to a high and uniform service standard. This is exactly what a business should do. Unfortunately UA is bad at making money. But, they are good at setting, and meeting, a service standard.

At work today and walked out of UA SOC at SFO. There was a 747 (SFO-ORD) in the old colors. Sorry I didn't see this thread yet or I would have got the reg. But there is one flying!

It may have operated as 102 or 886 today 1/4/10. So if someone can check the UA rotation we can get the answer.

N187UA flew UA0134 SFO-ORD today, most recently it has been doing the HNL-ORD rotation for the busy winter season.

I know what AVOD is, but I don't know how the acronym was formed. Can someone explain that?

As for UA's speed of conversions, while i wish it was faster, I greatly prefer United making smart money decisions. I emotionally I want to see them change over night or at least around when I'm an old man, I prefer the stock I hold in UAL perform. Although I firmly believe that an A+ United will have better returns.
