Hello everyone,

I heard from my friends that it is almost impossible to visit the cockpit on SIA planes, even harder for a jumpseat. Is it true???

Is there any way i could get one? I know it is up to the captain, but are there any tips for me?

thanks a lot

I know it varies but the best advice is just to ask very nice  Smile

make sure you do it at a relax moment in flight when you know the FA's aren't very busy.

good luck.

THanks Gunfighter... well got to envy my friend... he didnt asked for the visit, instead he got the jumpseat from start up to shut down without asking. He was invited. Isnt the pilots of QF 6 nice?

Yep, took four flights on SIA last year (2 x744's and 2 x A310's). On the outbound LHR-SIN flight my pleasant request was met with pleasant replies that it is no longer SIA policy to allow flight deck visits, so didn't bother asking on the other flights. On the same trip however, on a MAS flight, following a conversation with the cabin crew, I was invited up front for the last 20 minutes and landing at Langkawi on a flight from KL.

Am flying to SIN later this year, but will be outbound on BA's 015 and returning on the Skippy 009, so hoping for a quick peek upstairs on both those flights.

Yep it is. Just make sure you ask the flight attendants when they're lookin' cheerful. Good luck!

I got to the cockpit of 9V-SYC when I was returning from GMP. I am so lucky that I got on during a training flight!!

So you see,it is possible to get a cockpit visit on SIA.

Thanks a lot for the replies guys. Okay, it may be allowed onto the flight deck if you are lucky. But, do they allow the jumpseat landing?

just curios.

thanks

Smile well that is a diffirent matter.

in my two Flightdeck experiences the Jumpseat was already taken during takeoff and landing by a FA. grrrr.

It also depends much on the curcumstances of the flight. is the weather good ? those kind of things.

but you definately should ask, cause from time to time it happens.

My dad's friend works with SIA Flying College and he said that you have to have permission from Singapore first.
Because of him, I was allowed to go to the cockpit of SQ006 9V-SMT on the SIN-TPE leg because the copilot was his student.
