As you all know, Singapore Airlines operates both the B 777-200ER as well as the B 777-300ER. I believe both of them are for long haul services. Right?
Can anyone tell me where Singapore Airlines assign these two types of aircraft to fly to?

Look at my website in my userprofile and look under "Airlines" and there's your answer. I update that part every month with change of destinations for the different airlines. By the way, SQ has 777-200ER and 777-300. The 777-300ER was launched last year and will be delivered in Sep 2003 to Air France as the first delivery of the newer Longer Range 777s (200LR and -300ER). SIA does not operate the any of their B777s to US as yet. If you have heard about the coming of the launching of the Singapore-Amstersam-Chicago flight, that will be a B777-200ER, the newer batch from the current ones.
Registration should be 9V-SVA. Anyone know when it will be delivered?

Here's the info from my page: 14 in service 23 on order 777-212ER.5 in service 3 on order 777-312. SQ flies 777s to: SIN, KUL, BKK, HKG, SHA, DEL, BOM, CAI, PER, BNE, MNL, DPS, CGK, PEN, IST, FUK, KIX, NGO, HIJ, ICN, TPE, DXB and CMB. I think the new 777-212ER will have a new configuration since they start a new registration sequence (9V-SVA) but I'm not sure of the details. I know it will be Business and Economy class only, no First Class. They should get 9V-SVA in late June this year. SQ will start SIN-AMS-ORD on 1Aug this year as somebody already mentioned and also SIN-ICN-YVR on 1Sep01. There have been rumors that they would replace 343s to Europe with new 777s, but there are no SQ 777s yet in the schedules to Europe except AMS. The777Man

Given that the 777 routes seem to be mostly short haul, isn't that a waste of the ER's range capability? Also, doesn't it cost the airline more to fly a long range aircraft on short hauls? Maybe SQ should have ordered the non ER version.

Umm........... I think they are getting the ER Version for future use. As you may know, all of SQ's A 340-300s will leave soon. And some of them fly to places like Australia, Europe etc. Therefore, they need to have some space for future expansion, as well as replacement

I somewhat doubt the new SVX 777 series for SQ will have J30 Y 295 since that's basically the configuration for the SRX series at SQ. They are still getting a few more of those; two in May and one in June. The777Man

SQ would never allow a B777-200ER with 30J/295Y to go to AMS and ORD. I expect something in the order of 60J/220Y or even 70J/200Y, if they don't have a first class. If they do, I'd have 12P/56J/180Y or 8P/56J/190Y.
