Hey everyone,

I was searching youtube and I came across this video of Atlanta in the 1980's. It was pretty interesting so I just though I would share it with you all, hope this hasn't been posted yet.
Strange to see what airports were like in the 80's, most of the planes filmed are retired from most airlines in the United States now.

Wow! Love it! Great to see such great memories. Brings to mind the DL L-1011 that went down. I wonder if it was videoed?

Nice video. It's still hard to believe there aren't any traces of that terminal left today.

Ive watched that video several times. Someone posted it on here a while ago. Its a remarkable video. Really...amazing.

For anyone who is interested, I came across this link:

http://www.atlantatimemachine.com/misc/airport.htm

It has quite a few pictures showing the history of the Atlanta airport.

If you look closely in the background of the takeoff shots you will see the new Midfield Terminal Complex, nearly complete with the opening date just over five months away.

I still fondly recall many trips to/from Atlanta in those days where I would move to the window seat at taxi-in or taxi-out hoping to catch a glimpse of the new airport taking shape. It was an amazing piece of progress in those days.
