OAG Changes 12/21/2009: AA/AS/DL/F9/NW/US/WN/ZK

Posted (4 years 11 months 1 week 3 days 16 hours ago) and read 8034 times:

This compares what is for sale this week for the stated period versus what was for sale the prior week...NOT the prior year.

How to read:
ABE-MDT 3>2 APR means a reduction in one roundtrip from 3 to 2 for April only
ABE-MDT 3.8>2.7 APR-JUN This is the raw format of the data which sometimes I'm too lazy to retype. It means that over a month they were averaging a little less than 4 trips per day and now it's a little less than 3 per day. So, basically they cancelled 8 flights per week or so. Airliens are doing A LOT of non-daily ops now, so these fractions are pervasive.
ABE-MDT 4>6 MAY- means an increase from 4 to 6 roundtrips starting in May and continuing
ABE-MDT 4>6 MAY-JUN, 5>6 JUL means the change is only for the stated period May to June and then a different change for July in the same route

Please take it easy on any typos...

The code for Panama City, SA)">FL's new airport is ECP.

More slashing of CVG. Not surprising. But being a regular traveler out of CVG for business, the schedules are starting to get really challenging. Of the remaining flights, many of which have had equipment downgrades, I am finding many flights sold out weeks in advance. As a result, I attempt to connect through ATL, DTW or MSP, but due to the connection times, many times these are not an option. So now I am finding myself forced to go to other airlines, like CO or UA, to get the flights I need. I am not talking about travel to small cities, but going to places like NYC and DFW. I can't believe that DL has intended to cut some of the main routes as much as they have out of CVG. Anyone have any insights?

Who knows, maybe it's just left over aircraft time. I noticed the PBI trip mvoed directly to another hub!

WN is definitely moving into room vacated by AA.

That's not me causing that. It's a bug in the software running this site. It's trying to insert hotlinks to something and its putting them in the wrong place. I also can't edit a quoted post, so it's unfixable. Here's what it's supposed to be:

I thought this was way too obvious. I wonder if DOT/DOJ will ever crack down on this sort of thing? It's not much different than the whole Reno Air thing.

Blame A.net's auto-formating features with airport codes. Sometimes editing posts to try to "clean it up" will only make it worse.

I doubt it... I remember when NK started ATL-FLL, DL (using OH) started ACY-MCO right after that.... It'll be neat to see which ends first, ATL-MYR (NK) or LGA-MYR(DL)... what equip is DL using??

Also, I don't know if it is in OAG but:

Yikes, DL is flying it with Compass E175s! Jeez.

Anyway, ATL-MYR is a stupid route for NK (sorry!). I can't see that possibly working. It's too short to fly without any connecting passengers. I don't even understand why they are flying it. MYR must be supporting it somehow.

I predict NK will drop it in June or so and DL will drop their retaliation soon after.

How is that aircraft on weight(consider tons of golf bags)??

ATL-MYR kind of struck me as odd also, but then again, NK has had pretty decent success at ATL, so weirder things have happened. I agree, someone is supporting that flight.

'Bout time they returned the second flight. I wonder if this is something of a reaction, though, to UA starting ORD-AVL this past week.

I know that DL serves MYR with seasonal mainline, but as of May, 2010 (as expected with NK doing ATL-MYR) DL will have 2x M80s on ATL-MYR of which one M80 is scheduled for an ATL departure 10 mins prior to NK's and arriving MYR 5 mins earlier than NK (and opposed to NK's 1x A319).

DL's M80 schedule on May 19, 2010:

ATL-MYR
DL1833 ATL 1010 to MYR 1135
DL1746 ATL 1435 to MYR 1550

MYR-ATL
DL1944 MYR 1215 to ATL 1340
DL1895 MYR 1630 to ATL 1755

Quoting Nkops (Reply 10):
How is that aircraft on weight(consider tons of golf bags)??

I think the E175 is fine at sea level. It has a lot of cargo space as long as the cargo isn't tall.

Quoting MaverickM11 (Reply 11):
I saw ECP in the same load; ATL/MEMPFN just swapped to ECP.

This whole ECP thing will probably bring some of the Delta automation to its knees, so it may be in the schedule but failed some sort of verification process for OAG.

Quoting AVLAirlineFreq (Reply 12):
'Bout time they returned the second flight. I wonder if this is something of a reaction, though, to UA starting ORD-AVL this past week.

Maybe, hard to tell with 1 more flight in an existing market.

Quoting Jetlanta (Reply 13):
When it becomes illegal, which it isn't.

What NW did to Reno Air seems to be illegal. They were made to undo it. This is no different, just smaller in scale.

I think it was announced as seasonal in the first place, but I'm not sure. Cancels usually don't get press releases!

Once again thank you so much for your effort, I really enjoy reading it. As for the format there is no problem don't change a thing.

Yikes, DL is flying it with Compass E175s! Jeez.

I just checked Delta.com and it is saying that the flight is operated by Shuttle America. Who is typically more reliable OAG or DL?

Does Shuttle America have E175s as well? I just assumed Compass for that type. They are both reliable, if they are different then one is more recently updated.

Shuttle has E-175 as well. Compass typically has flight numbers in the 5600-5800 range and Shuttle flight numbers are 5900-5991.

Then my bad, it's probably Shuttle America. I don't store the operator name when I download because the file is so big.

MKE-CUN 0>2/WK JUN-

Is this an error? Or is MKE seeing n/s service to CUN into June and beyond? That would be pretty sweet..

What is ECP? Is this a new airport for Panama City or just a new city code?

Hey no problem thanks for all the effort you do. It is nice to see that DL is putting the E-175 to good use out of LGA. I hope to see more of them there if this slot swap deal goes through. As far as capacity is concerned the 175 should have no problem even with an alternate on either side.

25 MAH4546 : Seasonal.
26 Enilria : Not an error I don't think. I don't have the detail in front of me, but my memory is that the service is gapped from April to June. Previously it sim
27 MtnWest1979 : Code for the new airport serving Panama City region.
28 Sflaflight : Well call me goofy! I can't remember CLT beng seasonal. Has it always been that way? Is it the only one like that? RDU and RIC are year round right?
29 FutureUScapt : This is the first such time it has been that way. As of now, B6's summer schedule to CLT thid year will be 3x JFK and 3x BOS, whereas last summer it
30 Sflaflight : Ah, OK. That explains it. I knew I remembered flying through CLT as an option last summer. Went for the nonstop though! But why did B6 turn it season
31 F9fan : It looks like WN is "all-in" at DEN. They seem to be the big winners in the summer WN adds. I read somewhere (I think it was USA Today) that WN will b
32 Iowaman : A few years ago I would of said that statement is absolutely nuts, but with DEN-DTW starting up I'm sure that is on the list of possibilities.
