Merry Christmas Everyone!
I didn't see this posted anywhere, but AC launched a daily flight from YUL-IAH with the CRJ705 a/c on Nov 30th, glad to see AC expanding a bit from it's YUL hub, hopefully more is to come....

Hello all. Merry Christmas!
Does AC have any other flights to IAH or is this the first one they fly?
Certainly a good addition to make connections other than using the hub-based CO, seems like *A is making its progress at IAH!
Good news for us traveling cheaply to Canada via the US.

No, they have flights to YYZ and YYC for some reason YUL isn't showing up on the route map just yet..

I'd love for AC to let CO take care of IAH and shift one of their daily YYC flights from IAH to DFW. I'd love to see an E75 make it out west, but it's highly unlikely... they're all tied up with YYZ - ORD/EWR/BOS/LGA.

But why such small aircraft. I flew MEX-IAH-YYZ-IAH-MEX in 2006 with CO and the IAH-YYZ-IAH segments were on ERJ-145s! It would be nice if mainline jets were used... or at least the AC E-190s.

IMHO the thread title is misleading. It gives the impression that AC is just beginning service to IAH rather than just adding expanding IAH service to include YUL.

The AC Jazz CRJ705 (the CRJ900 airframe certified for fewer seats) is a very comfortable aircraft with PTVs like the AC mainline fleet. The 10J/65Y configuration also means that seat pitch in Y class is better than on many larger aircraft.

Quoting Fly2YYZ (Reply 6): With CO being *A will we see AC upgauging their YYZ-IAH flight at all from a QX flight to actual mainline AC?
The flights used to be E75's, i.e. 2 less seats (1Y/1J) than the CRJ. So the flight has technically been upguaged in terms of seats from what it was, be it only a couple of seats. I'd sooner expect to see a CO 735 or 73G on this route before AC E90's. As of late AC has the E75's all locked up with Boston, ORD, EWR, LGA...

Excuse me? How is it hard to misread, it's simple they just launched it ill reword it to your standards "AC which already serves YYZ and YYC from this new Star Hub IAH is expanding its services to includes it Montreal Hub" better?? ha

Actually it originally read "Air Canada launches Houston", with no reference to Montreal.

I had the same view as OA412 re the original subject heading as it sounded like it was AC's first service to IAH. I used the "suggest deletion" button to suggest that the thread title be changed to include the Montreal-Houston reference.

Continental's ERJ-145XR airframes are really not bad. They're a regular feature on CO's IAD-IAH service. I've flown through turbulence and storms in them and felt perfectly safe. And they are roomy for a 50 seaters. No ovens through. So no meal service. And no "F" Class.

Yeah, don't get me wrong. I feel perfectly safe in the little Embraers. I fly them from time to time because AM Connect has a few. I did AUS-MEX last year with AM, and this year I did MEX-MID in the ERJ-145, and both were pleasant experiences. My point is that IAH-YYZ-IAH is a route that, to me, felt too long for such a plane. I did not have a problem on the inbound because the load factor was really low, but on the way back we had a 100% load factor and it was not a very pleasant journey. I kind of wished we had been on a mainline 737.
