What do you think is the best airline? What about the worst one?

The best i've been on is probably Midway. The towels, mints, cookies, and employees are great. The planes are nice and the new 73G's are really spiffy.

I don't have a worst airline.

Josh

Today the worst airline is American Trans Air because they lost my luggage in March. On many other days Pan Am is the worst airline because of the epileptic Iranian emergency in Winnipeg which I had the misfortune of experiencing in 1987. Even though they went bust, I will never forgive them.

Best? For the moment it's probably Lufthansa because of the rides on the jumpseat and friendly flight attendants who plied me with free booze. On other days it could be JetBlue because I fly them most frequently. Or it could be Delta because I liked them most when I was five.

If ATA didn't lose your luggage, and PA didn't have an a eplileptic on it, would you still hate 'em?

If PA had lost my luggage and ATA had had the epileptic Iranian, I'd probably still hate them.

Actually, my opinion would have been low regardless of lost luggage and epileptic Iranians(Incidentally, the problem was how Pan Am dealt with the epileptic Iranian, not the poor guy himself), because of the sheer number of "less-than-professional" moments on ATA and the fact that Pan Am could do nothing more exciting on a New Year's Eve flight than to have the pilot announce when it was midnight in NYC. No party atmosphere, just drudgery.

The worst airline in my opinion is Indian Airlines of India. They have ugly livery along with poor service.

On the other hand, there are two airlines that I consider to be, "the best." They are KLM Royal Dutch Airlines and Jet Airways of India. Jet Airways has all next-generation Boeing 737's and they are comfortable. The service on Jet Airways is virtually perfect, with great food too! KLM is also magnificent because of their beautiful livery and fantastic service. The food that I had on KLM was the best airline food that I have ever had! It is also great to know that KLM and Jet Airways are in a strategic alliance with each other.

The best airline today is probably Northwest because the service is very friendly and their on time the most on time in the US. The worst airline would probably have to be American Airlines.

NWA best, AA worst. Hmm, that don't seem right. I would also like to know where you got those figures about them on time the most. NWA is the worst, they almost killed someone by letting people on the plane sit in puke which was infected by something deadly. They leave planes on the tarmac for over 8 hours with people in them, not letting them off, reports of the toilets over flowing as they wait. I would like to see if anyone else feels the same.

I heard that NWA was bad !?!

If you only flew an airline once, and you didn't like it, unless the plane/crew was bad, why not give it a second chance?

Pan Am flew to Winnepeg when the epileptic Iranian passenger (mentioned previously) had a midflight seizure 30,000 feet above Canada in June 1987. There was an emergency landing in Winnipeg (which did not have regular scheduled Pan Am service) and the Iranian was rushed off the plane. It being 1987, the Canadian authorities did not want to take the poor Iranian into custody, so instead they had the Pan Am flight wait while the airport doctors pumped him full of drugs. Two hours later, the Iranian was returned to the aircraft. The Pan Am 747, dwarfing all other aircraft at the Winnipeg airport, taxied out to the runway. While waiting for clearance to depart, the Iranian had a second seizure. The PA 747 returned to the terminal, and the Iranian was rushed off. This time the Canadian authorities felt they had no choice but to keep him. However, Pan Am's crew felt obligated to leave the Iranian's luggage with the Iranian. Therefore, they asked all passengers to disembark and claim their luggage from a carousel. We poor passengers then had to claim our luggage from one carousel and put it on another. What was left over was given to the Iranian. You can imagine the difficulties for three hundred half-asleep passengers (we were on an already delayed flight from LHR to LAX). The Iranian wound up "inheriting" an amazing pile of luggage. I would say he wound up with about 30 pieces of unclaimed luggage! This is why I think that Pan Am's crew were idiots. Six hours after our original unscheduled landing in Winnipeg, we departed for Los Angeles. We arrived at 1:30AM rather than 4:00 PM. Pan Am tried to refuse to put its connecting passengers up in a hotel, relenting only after an hour of ceaseless complaints from its inconvenienced passengers. Pan Am found a real roach motel for all of us, with a single six-person shuttle van to shuttle seventy people over to the motel.
It was unbelieveably bad service on everyone's part. Frankly, I'm glad Pan Am went out of business.

Yeah, that was pretty stupid of them  Laugh out loud. When i went on JmIdway (I noticed people like to capitalize the abb. letters), we were delayed at EWR b/c of weather, and they ACTUALLY took a 73G that was sitting @ RDU and got us down to florida, as they promised. They even arranged ground transportation for us to get to where we were going. They handled a rough situation VERY VERY well.

The best is American, mrtc is a great hit!now if they can give out bigger meals in coach they will be set.

The worst by far is United. They have not done anything right for about 10 years. No wonder American has leap froged them for the largest Airline.I think that will continue to be the case even if the united-us air deal goes though.Something I think will not happen anyway.

Worse: United-bad experience with them.

Have not been on any international flights.
