Obviously this doesn't suggest everyone...or anyone...is making a cent in Milwaukee. And connecting and thru passengers funneled via MKE are part of this growth. But the airlines at MKE are putting butts into seats to generally meet the large capacity growth.
MKE has been approximately 55th busiest for years in terms of passengers, and they rose to #50 last year. With this growth they are moving into the company of airports ranking in the mid-30's.

Wow, look at WN already at #4 for market share after just 1 month of new service. Pretty impressive, although we must remember the carriers below WN are all RJ service to MKE, with the exception of the 2 US mainline flights to PHX. Anyone know how WN is doing though overall to MKE so far?

Just in terms of crude onboard load, WN served 63,122 passengers on 708 flights, so that's 89.155 passengers per flight. That's a load factor of just over 65% for their first month at MKE.

It looks like Southest both Increased the size of the MKE pie, as well as stole some PAX from Midwest and AirTran. AirTran's load foctor for Nov. appears to be only a Little above Southwest new service in November ~69%.
If I read the stats correctly, Both the YX/F9 and FL camps served less traffic in Nov. than Oct.
All in all, I tink Southwest did better than I expected! Maybe they are bringing some of their potential MDW traffic North?
