AA MIA-CNF - 5x Weekly?

Any chance we can see AA MIA-CNF go 5x weekly? Planes are so full this time of the year you can't even buy seats.

Would it be possible to have the 3x or 4x weekly as it is now and maybe have a tag on from GRU the other days? Is this allowed?

And for those who never been to CNF, here is a little video I did on my last landing.

My understanding of the bilateral is that AA could add extra-section flights between the US and Brazil during the peak period from Dec 15th - Feb 28th if it so chooses. So either AA doesn't have any wiggle room with its B763 fleet or it feels that keeping the status quo at CNF is the best option right now.

If fuel reaches a low enough price, it can become economical for AA to send an otherwise parked 777 to CNF from GRU on days that MIA-CNF does not operate, allowing AA to offer daily service to CNF. This is what AA does with MVD, non-stops on certain days and via EZE on others, allowing daily service. But Montevideo is a much stronger premium market than Belo Horizonte.

Extra bilateral flights are at Brazil's discretion every season and not always permitted/approved. This year extra bilateral flights are only being approved DEC15-JAN15.

Thanks for the clarification. I was unsure of how those extra bilateral flights were treated; just reading the bilateral made it sound like it was a sure bet/guarantee.

Out of curiosity, what has the recent trend been regarding these flights - has Brazil been restrictive or flat out denied any requests for extra section flights lately?

No U.S. carriers asked for them this winter. TAM asked for three extra MIA-GRU flights until 15FEB, but only got until 15JAN.

Though there are are plenty of unavailable U.S.-GRU frequencies for Brazilian carriers, so I don't know why TAM needed to use the extra-bilateral frequencies. I assume less paperwork.
