Does anyone have any idea if Great Lakes has changed the ONT-PRC service to only having one flight at 11:00 AM or if they still have the Flight 197 ONT-PRC in the afternoon. I have had a hard time getting onto their website. I am planning on going to PRC in February on the 19th. Thanks!!

Yes, i use this service about 1 time a month, and it is going from twice daily to once daily this month. Their website is not the best, but I have always found the booking engine accurate, so if you get it working, it should be correct. Oddly enough, on the 19th, I will likely be going from PRC-ONT.

There is a major schedule change at Lakes on the 8th of January. The schedule that is on the Lakes' website or on united.com is accurate and reflects that schedule change.

Well..I fly for them, so I can tell you, if you love flying, you will love the experience. Its like flying in the good ol days, and odds are you might be able to grab a peak into the cockpit from time to time. It is loud, so consider bringing either ear plugs or noise canceling headsets, it will make it much more bearable.

Hmm...there have been a lot of strong rumors that Las Vegas will be opening up for us at the earliest of next month, though nothing official has been announced. I wonder if these schedule changes are reflecting the pull back of service from ONT and shifting towards LAS! I guess only time will tell!

I have always enjoyed it, I have had one round trip where each flight was delayed by 3 hours because of maintenance (just bad luck for me). There will likely not be a lot of people on the flight. Several times it has been me and another passenger (out of a possible 19). Other times there has been 15 or 16 passengers, so it just depends. Bags are free, which is always nice. GLA shares a gate with United, and it is at the very end of the ONT terminal (either 1 or 2). There are not much concessions in there, especially on that end. At PRC, there is a small cafe before security, but it closes at 4pm. (Called Suzie's Skyway) It is good and cheap though, so if you want a pre-flight meal, definitely give them a try. Once you go through security there are some folding chairs and a vending machine.
You will probably enjoy your flight though, I always have, and as a pilot I love when they leave the cockpit saloon doors open.
I had a flight cancelled once, because the aircraft had a mechanical issue at another airport a few hours before. As soon as they found out, the GLA agent at PRC called me as soon as she found out. She booked me a shuttle down to PHX, a US Airways flight to SNA (I live in Newport Beach, so I asked for that) and gave me vouchers for my bag fees at US with a little extra for eating at the airport.
