Of course not, cause... the result would be a plane which is less competitive in fuel costs. If you want to cruise a lot faster, fuel consumption rises more than a lot. If they want to do a good job, to many things have to be changed, f.e. you have to use a completely different the wings ... ... ...
But most important thing for airlines is cost efficiency, (not time, look at the Concorde) that's the reason, why BA cancelled the orders of 747-400 and choose 777.
And this is also the reason, why Airbus has a chance with the A3XX, cause it will be maybe 25% cheaper for the airline (if filled)

Hey man, calm down, you wanna tell me what engines are bigger than the 100 inch PW4000 they got on there now. geez, it has a cruise speed of 700 N-MPH already, what more could you want on that thing, man, I'd calm down, as big as the A3XX is, it needs bigger engines
