Did BA Fly To Santo Domingo?

I see on Wikipedia it says BA previously served Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. Does anyone know when they stopped flying there? Was it a typical twice weekly service or was it an add on to another flight? With BA starting services to Punta Cana last October, I wonder why they didn’t chose to return to Santo Domingo.

Anyone have any ideas?

BA (or BOAC before) never flew regularly to SDQ. Its another case of wikipedia being unreliable in a lot of details.

It might have been a Concorde service as a one off. St. Dominique was also visited by Air France with Concorde too (F-BTSD)

Most likely - AF flew the Concorde through SDQ on special "round the world" charters a couple of times (1992 and once in the 80's). Chances are a BA Concorde came by at least once.

One other note: BA has been codesharing with IB since 2002 on MAD-SDQ, which may be why its listed as an SDQ destination on wikipedia.

Saint-Domingue is the name of the former colony of France which later became Haiti. St. Dominique is a municipality in Quebec.

While I am sure both AF and BA made appearances with their Concorde's at SDQ, BA never had scheduled flights. However a variety of charters operate flights from the U.K. to SDQ.

I think there was a short-lived flight to Santo Domingo when the AML agreement was in place. This was when BA had three 777s in a high capacity layout for leisure routes from Gatwick. They were flown with BA flightdeck crew but Flying Colours cabin crew. The World Traveller cabin was also 10-abreast. The flights to Tampa, Kingston, Montego Bay, Nassau, Grand Cayman and San Juan were flown by these aircraft. BA also served Cancun, Havana and San Jose (Costa Rica) at this time through AML.
