Air Berlin transported 27.9 million passengers in 2009. In 2008, there were 29.1 million pax onboard AB planes, meaning a decrease of 3.9 percent. As the capacity was reduced by 2.6 percent, AB comes out of 2009 with a load factor of 0.773, compared with 0.783 in 2008. Revenue per seat kilometer increased by 7 percent from 5.38 to 5.75 Cents.
