MD-80's "Sex Appeal" Lives On In CRJ 900

The thing that I always loved about the MD-80 was how far the wing was placed aft on the fuselage. I was thumbing through one of the commercial aviation mags the other day and happened on a pic of the new CRJ 900. Right away I thought, looks like a MD-80 with winglets...In other words, I love it!

I don't think that this is a regional jet anymore it ios just to big. same thing goes for the RJ-85 and 100

The term "Regional" applies to the aircrafts service area, not it's size. That's how I understand it anyway.

Hmm, I know what you mean. The MD-80 always looks so good because it is so narrow with its wings far back. The MD-80 really looks good in mostly white schemes like AS and the old QQ one. The MD90 was the apitomy of this, but there are very few of them around [sadly].

The CRJ900 isn't quite long enough, but its not bad. We need a long 717 or something, but I don't think that is too viable.

Oh yeah! A 717-400. 242' or so. That would be sweet. Would look like a F-104 Starfighter on steroids.

I like the MD80, because from the side (in the air) it often looks like it has no wings or engines!
