Hi People!

Just checked LH's route map on their site. If you click on DUS and nonstop flights, it shows MCO as direct destination from DUS. Anybody know more about this? Tried to find out when this would start, but no luck.

Would be great if this was true!!

I haven't checked personally to see if there are MCO-DUS flights, but this route map is automatically generated by reading a reservation system such as GDS or Amadeus.

So if Lufthansa is operating a special one-off scheduled service on MCO-DUS on just one day, then it will appear on the route map.

Sorry, I only got the German link for this. However, it says: "Discover the diversity of nonstop travelling from Düsseldorf. In Summer 2010 Lufthansa will continue to increase the large number of Destinations to North America and Europe."

Could this be a hint that Orlando is not just a one-off?

I just googled "DUS-MCO nonstop" and got this forum discussion (in German) as first result. One user there found out that these flights are operating on the days when DUS-ORD is not operating, so he is guessing that LH will fly DUS-ORD 5/7 and DUS-MCO 2/7 next winter. There is a demand because a lot of Germans (Siemens employees) are living in the MCO area according to the discussion linked above.

And then there are the tourists. My girlfriend's sister and her whole handball team made a one-week fun trip to MCO last summer, all of them were dissapointed that they had to change planes in ATL, with a nonstop flight they had a few hours more in MCO on the arrival and departure days. I really thought that ABwas still flying DUS-MCO nonstop (like LT did in the past) until she told me that there was no nonstop flight available and that they had to book Delta.

Two-time special flight on Friday 3 December 2010 and Tuesday 7 December 2010:

LH 448 DUS 1130-1600 MCO 333
LH 449 MCO 1750-0845+1 DUS 333

Must be a cruise ship charter or something; selling excess capacity to the pubic like on the DUS-DXB flights that they had this past summer.
