I was flying home to Los Angeles on the 1st of Jan. While was waiting at ORF to board my flight, I notice an US twin coming in for a landing. I also notice that this twin was bigger than a E-jet. As it was touching down, realize this was an A320 or A319. As the a/c taxi, I saw it was an A319. Why was an US Airways A319 at ORF, and what route was it flying?

If it was around 1030, US operated a mainline CLT-ORF-CLT rotation around that time of day up until about Jan 1. It was flown with an E190 until 25 Jan, and then switched to the 319 for a week. Now that mainline departure has become an express-operated flight, leaving only the 0700 B737-400 departure to CLT as US mainline. It's a shame to see ORF reduced so heavily to a primarily express operation for US. ZW even has a crew/maintenance base at ORF.

All nonstop flights are direct, but not all direct flights are nonstop!
