DL EWR-AMS On A 764?

Hey Everybody,

Similar to my last thread, I was just screwing around with delta.com and noticed something interesting about the DL EWR-AMS flight. The flight (NW 791/792) is labeled as a "Boeing 767" on the aircraft type section but when clicking on the seat map it shows a 767-400 with availability to book seats. Is this a website glitch or is DL upgrading the route from a 763 to a 764?

There are some plane mislabels throughout DL.com right now, use the seat-map as a guide not the label on the page.

Looks like the "767-400" passenger seat map on the route shows Business class as rows 1-6 and Economy is rows 15-42 or (187 seats)

That is the 763s configuration....I'm guessing its just a glitch.

Nothing but a few bathrooms and galley area. It's just the numbering system DL has.

Figures. Heard EWR-AMS was doing well but the 764 is better suited for longer missions.

Main difference between the 763 and 764 is that the 764 has more Biz First seats. I thought that the 764 was used exclusively on LHR routes for now.

Economy also has more seats (200-206 on the 764 vs 181 on the 763ER)

DL has 21 767-400ERs. 7 of these have 40 (or 39 if pilot rest seat is used) flat-bed Business seats (internal designation "76D") and 206 Y seats; these are used exclusively for LHR.

The other 14 (internal designation "76C") have 42 (or 41 if pilot rest seat is used) 160 degree recliner Business seats and 200Y seats; these are used on various transatlantic and 'deep' South America routes. Next summer, these 14 will be used on JFK - MAD / BCN / VCE / NCE / SVO / DUB / IST as well as ATL - MUC / MAD / BCN / GRU.

Do all of the DL 764s have PTVs in economy?
Curious as I am considering them alongside EI for a JFK-DUB trip, and I know the A333s are all PTV-equipped on EI now. The DL flights are listed as Boeing 767s, the top of the seat map says 767-400, but the seat map is a 767-300.

All 767-400s have PTVs in both classes.

The 767-300s are just starting to get PTVs installed, but the initial batch will be used on 12+ hour flights only.

Nothing but a few bathrooms and galley area. It's just the numbering system DL has.

When DL had three classes, F started at row 1, C started at row 10 and Y at row 20.

When DL went to BusinessElite, J started at row 1 and Y started at row 20. After reducing the size of J class and expanding Y class, they decided to number the new rows of Y with row numbers ahead of 20, instead of renumbering all of Y class.

DL JFK-DUB is a 763ER for the winter/spring. It will switch to a 767-400ER starting May 1 2010 for the summer.
