Philippine Airlines resumes a long-awaited service to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, on March 28, 2010, heeding the clamor of the large Filipino community in the Middle East and marking a return to the region after an absence of four years.
The non-stop service will operate four times weekly, with flight PR 658 departing Manila every Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday at 6:20 p.m. It arrives in the Saudi capital at 11:00 p.m. (Riyadh time)
The return service, PR 659, departs Riyadh at 12:30 a.m. every Wednesday, Friday, Sunday and Monday, and arrives back in Manila at 3:00 p.m. (Manila time) Boeing 747-400 aircraft, which seat 50 passengers in Business Class and 383 in Economy Class, will be deployed on the service.

Great news for PR and the Fillipino communities in Saudi Arabia. This is excellent news, and the relatively high frequency shows their commitment as well.
Wonder when DXB and JED will also come online.

Great news news!! Finally the return there. The fact that PR has been absent from the MiddleEast region is quite absurd to begin with as they have alot of money to make there, especially in Saudi where there is only SV to compete with nonstop (and even they make stops in HKG during some flights).
DOH, DXB, BAH, AUH would have been tougher because of their home carriers all serving double daily to MNL with better service at a low price, but I believe RUH will be great.
If the route does well maybe they can send the 744 to JED on the other three days.
