The 777 upgrades start next month, so obviously as they are pulled from the schedules something else will need to fill its place. The United 747's and 767's are a very nice ride in C...can't wait for the 777's to finally get upgraded! The domestic 3-class 767 flights are harder to upgrade on as everyone targets those flights because of the new seats.

It's good to see United bringing back the 744 to FRA every summer, since everybody replaced 744 by 777s in the last years. But with LH getting the 748i we will see 747s here in FRA for a long from now

Depends who you ask. Good for the airlines, means there is capacity. Bad for many of the customers who like decent IFE.
It'll be great to see yet another 744 grace the skies above Chicago, though! From all I have seen, they (travel industry in general) are expecting a good summer in Europe...

Wait a minute, someone catch me up.
I've been looking at tickets to FRA for about two months now (gold elite with a star carrier, trying to find a great/fun route that involves good flight, lots of miles, 747s... LH is out due to miles earning, all that to say THAT'S WHY IT TAKES ME SO LONG to book a ticket like this one).
Anyhow, got that off my chest, in my searches on UA, I typically see two ORD-FRA flights. One is op by a 777, the other a 747. This is in May.
Are you telling me that they're now BOTH 747s? Or are you simply telling me what's patently obvious, that one of them is a 747?
