I just watched it, and that was definatly the pilots fault. The pilot should of aborted the landing and went around again as soon as he saw he didnt touch down til the middle of the runway.

I just saw it on Dateline. I agree with Dragon-wings. The blame is on the pilot. I don't see how he could land a 737 in the middle of a runway (that is not that long in the first place) and expect it to come to a complete stop on it. Its just a good thing that the plane didn't hit that gas station.

I stand by SWA's decision to fire the two pilots. God forbid if all those people in the plane and on the ground if they did hit the Amoco Gas Station and the thing would have blown up like a powder keg. You would have triple digit casualties.
