Anyone know what's going on with New York control for the WATRS (West Atlantic Route System) run by ARINC? It's the New York oceanic area between the Caribbean islands, 60W and the US East coast.
I've been monitoring HF 6577 and 8918 for some the past hour and at 1330z there was a complete loss of contact with NYC from all flights. There's about 30 American's, Continental's, Delta's, JetBlue's and other stuff all frantically trying to get hold of NYC and no response on any of the HF freqs. The planes are now all talking to each other asking if they're having same problems and wondering what to do as they're obviously out of VHF range.
Have NYC ARINCs HF transmitters gone down? No contact for over 30 mins now and no radar coverage in oceanic areas....
