Who Got ATA's DCA Slots?

Just came across this 2006 photo of an ATA plane on final into DCA: http://www.airliners.net/photo/ATA-A...=9a8ffef98304405a9e440810d0957ac2.

It got we wondering who got their slots, since they obviously did not transfer to WN or else WN would be at DCA I would think. Or do they all just go back into the pool and get meted out by MWAA in the next round of slot allocations?

IIRC, FL got just about all of them. FL had about 6 pairs of their own to start with, they then picked up about 4 pairs from ATA and finally 2 pair from CO (as part of last years swap).

Thanks for the info. However, if slots do not transfer with a merger/acquisition (IIRC there is a clause about that somewhere that screwed AA out of TWA's LAX slot), why do they allow swaps?

The AA/TW problem was specific to beyond-perimeter slots. "Normal" slots can be transferred just about any way an airline likes.

There we go. It just occurred to me that allowing trades if they didn't allow tranfers through acquisition would simply allow carriers to skirt the rules by trading.

Normal slots can be transferred; Air-21 slots can not, which is what all 24 of the beyond perimeter slots are. Certain within-perimeter slots are Air-21 slots as well (DLs DCA-JAN/LEX) and as such, can not be transferred.
