The largest in the world is King Khalid airport in Saudi Arabia, followed closely by Jeddah (that's by land area). The largest one in US is Denver International, it has 6 runways and looks like a big swastika from above. Atlanta is the busiest one.

Currently the biggest major airport, as far as amount of runways go, is Dallas/Ft. Worth (DFW) with 7. Chicago O'Hare shut down 18/36 and thus has 6. Plans have been drawn for up to 11 runways at Denver, although that will never happen.

11 Runways ???? my god what do you want to do with so many runways.

study has made it clear that building additional runways isn't always the best option for icreasing capacity.

Taxiways etc. have proven to be more important for icreasing capacity.

How many pax does ATL have per year? And what about ORD?

You really have to clarify what you mean by "largest" airport. Largest in land area? Largest in the total number of passengers handled? Largest is the total number of aircraft takeoffs/landings?

Atlanta is #1 in pax and movements, with thanks to Delta having the largest hub operation in the world at ATL and AirTran having its hub at ATL.
