Hello a.netters,

I noticed that a few flights out of IAH to Europe were canceled tonight. LHR and FRA come into mind. Is this because of weather in IAH? What's going on?

Nope... Both Mx related...
CO 4 LHR canceled due clogged up lav system...
CO34 LHR was held 3 hours to pick up most of 4's passengers..

CO46 FRA was canceled to use the aircraft for CO53 EZE... 53's aircraft was OoS for lightning strike inspection. 46 was not very full and it's much easier to reroute passengers to / from FRA then EZE...

Would they able to reroute some to the LH flight or does that flight leave before the CO one? I figured with them both being star, there would at least be some level of cooperation between them... Though I imagine most were rerouted via EWR?

LH flight leaves almost 2 1/2 hours earlier than the CO flight. And rerouting through EWR doesn't really work due to the time it would take to get up to EWR to catch the flight, considering its already departed EWR.

okay, I'm waiting for the rich to spread the wealth around to me. Please mail your checks to my house.

I suppose this is the main disadvantage of having such a high fleet utilization rate, especially with wide bodied aircraft at CO.
