Boeing list that Qatar Airways have ordered 59 planes from them.

These comprise:

787s ordered in 2007,
777s ordered in 2006 and 2007,
a 727 ordered in 1979,
and a 707 ordered in 1976.

Clearly, QR didn't exist in the 1970s so what's that all about?  Confused

they were VIP aircraft and counted towards the Qatar Airways account. A military C-17 also has Qatar Airways colours which also is a clear sign the government and Qatar Airways are very close, so they obviously are being registered as one customer by Boeing. Others will comment on how much the Qatari government is involved in Qatar Airways.

nobody has ever died from hard work, but why take the risk?

I saw the B 727 in Athens in the ealry 90s. Unfortunately, I never saw their B 707.

Yes, the 707 was a fairly regular visitor at Heathrow in the late 70s. The shot below was taken in the BA maintenance area when I used to work there. Oh happy days. Seems like a LONG time ago now - mainly because it was a LONG time ago!

Probably the first ever plane on the Qatari register - A7-AAA Boeing 707-3P1C c/n 21334

Incidentally, I was standing under a Concorde wing when I took that photo.  cloudnine
