Update On TAT Nigeria?

I had read on a forum hear that LY had leased a 744 to "TAT Nigeria" to operate TLV-Lagos flights, and I was surprised to learn that they were allowed to overfly Sudan.

Does anyone have any updates on this operation - did it actually happen? is there regular service? any problems with overfly?

This has been an ongoing operation since the end of November probably until the middle of Feb. Every year Nigeria flies Christian pilgrims to Israel for them to visit the holy places.
Last year it was Israir's leased A330 on the route, the year before Thai Orient B743...

How often is the flight operating? Weekly?

I'm really surprised they can overfly Sudan. I know the LY flight TLV-GRU has to go around Africa, but maybe the Sudanese don't mind flights from TLV, just the Israeli airline? I'm not sure.

I did a google search and found the following, reported in November

The B747-400 (4X-ELD) leased by Travel Aviation and Tourism (TAT) Nigeria from El Al for the airlift of Christian pilgrims to Israel, had its left wing damaged yesterday, after hitting and pulling down some electric poles at Abuja Airport. Reportedly, the aircraft taxied on the wrong tarmac before take-off. The nine-hour flight was cancelled and a replacement aircraft will be sent today.

I guess the aircraft is operating from both LOS and ABV?

A valid point and not childish at all considerng the Arab ban on Israeli overflights of their airspace by any airline, if Sudan had ties with Israel in some way than its different.

They are not allowed to. Flights are operated via Cyprus.
