My cousin was at DUS last sunday, the 24th, and said he saw a United 747-400 taking off (very rare at DUS for passenger flights). Since Lufthansa doesn't even fly 747's to DUS, I was wondering if anyone knew why the UA744 might have been there? My cousin figured out that it must have been LH408 DUS-EWR, but flight aware says the flight was operated in an A340, just like every other day. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

It looked like reg N171UA but that doesnt turn up in flight aware

I might be wrong, but I have never heard about a MAC to DUS. Usuallly to Ramstein (not to FRA anymore (  cry  ) and sometimes Hahn (HHN).

Best regards
