The article is in German.

Click on the pictures to enlarge them. The second picture has in fact 19 pictures!

The aircraft looks great. Can´t wait to see her out the paint hangar!

Has anyone else noticed the oversized Star Alliance logo? When is this aircraft scheduled to be delivered to LH?

Regards,

Yes.And i think the revenue flight is in June  .

Cant wait to see it fly!

Will LH have the same seats like it does on the A346?

PEK will be the first destination, correct?

Rumors in San Francisco is that SFO could be the second destination for the LH A380 fleet.

I thought it would be JFK? And that next destination would be NRT and maybe JNB (though the Soccer World Cup will be over by 11 July). I doubt SFO will see the A380 soon, since Swiss is starting starting flying there, making it pratically 3x LH + 1x UA a day (plus AB from DUS) from Middle Europe.

The logo is not oversized, the A380 is just BIG

No, until they´ve changed something drastically recently. I was involved in the seat alternative evaluation for economy. Just for comparison they had the standard seats of the A340/744 there too. All the A380 proposals were better, though I dont know which one was chosen in the end.

Talk is it will be flying to Miami by November. They are almost done with the gate installation (J17, I think) for the A380, done at Lufthansa's request.

Why Miami, a oneworld hub? Is there so much highyield demand to MIA?

Anyway, great pictures!

Why oh why JFK? It seems like everyone is flying their A380 to JFK! I just think there are bigger markets than JFK (except LHR IMO) Why don't they fly them elsewhere? JNB (World Cup), NRT.
Is there a possibility for LH to launch any Australian or New Zealand routes?

Good to hear that also LH is going for an even further increased quality of their product upon introducing the A380.

I recall hearing that LAX was indeed quite high on the list of A380 destinations but I haven't heard anything regarding LHs A380 plans for LAX in quite a while.

Yes, there is. Lufthansa flies to Miami from Frankfurt, Dusseldorf, and Munich, not to mention Swiss from Zurich - all with three classes of service.

Though the A380 isn't about where there is high-yield demand - it's about dense markets with healthy premium demand that don't necessarily require a second frequency to Frankfurt but would welcome the added capacity. Miami fits that mold perfectly, as do Delhi, Bangkok, and San Francisco, among others.

Does LH have plans to install a truly competitive First-class product (a la BA) anytime soon, or are they happy with their current seat?

From what I have heard, PVG is on their plans for the A380. I know one of their engineers here in China and he told me he would start training on the A380 on the first quarter of 2010.

LH already flies 747s to MIA out of FRA, and the 747 has First Class on the Upper Deck. No idea which precise configuration is used on FRA-MIA though, as some have 80 Business seats, others have only 66 Business seats, and the rest only 52 seats in C-Class (plus 16 First Class seats in the entire 747 fleet, which makes up to 96 Premium seats per aircraft).

With all of these destinations that LH might be sending A380s to, it sounds like they'll need a few more - maybe we'll see an order at the hand-over ceremony?
