The cabin noise in the Airbus was the best from all the Boeing aircraft.. I swear!
THe airbus is really quite!!!!!!
ALso the 1st class in the Boeing 747-400 (El Al)
It was also very quite..
The rest had there fair share of noise..

I'm not sure which aircraft are more quiet in general. I flew in an Airbus A320 last year for the first time. I loved every minute of the flight! It was a CFM-powered one for Northwest Airlines. Quieter than any 737 I'd flown in, for sure, though I haven't flown in a 737NG yet.

Also, I flew in a Finnair Airbus A300B4 in 1995; that was a nice, quiet, smooth flight as well. Those big GEs sure did purr.

Hard for me to say if I prefer a more quiet aircraft, because I find the roar of a jet engine to be musical!

CO does not operate the 737-400.

You have to try the MDs (MD 80-90).
They where the biggest surprise in my "flight-life", because especially if you sit in the first 8-10 rows, you will hear nearly nothing from the engines!! It was really a great expierience!
That was really like flying with the wind!
