NW 249 Stuck In Amsterdam

So, the last NW flight from AMS to DTW ever is stuck with a "right main landing gear" brake problem. KLM has put us up in hotels for the night with meals. The expected time of departure is now 9:00 AM on Sunday, 31 January. This means we will be DL 9901. So, we won't even be the first DL flight from AMS to DTW!

It's been a long day here in AMS. Let's hope DL gets us home tomorrow!

Why is DL taking over the flights? Aren't they still on 2 different AOC's? I know the NW livery is on the way out already, but I will miss it. So much better then the boring white of the DL planes.

Sure it is a brake problem? They just may not know what call sign to use.

AMS is showing both, NW249 and DL9901 as plane N811NW. Did they miss their slot times or is this an overnight repair?

There's another thread that goes into why it won't be a DL flight tomorrow. Today is the end of the NW code, so everything tomorrow and beyond will be DL flights. See Today (1/30/10) Is The Last Day For Nwa.com.

No, the single AOC was approved a month ago.

NW light numbers, callsigns etc. cease to exist this weekend. The NW website is also being shut down. See the following current thread for more on this subject.

KL arranged the Holiday Inn Amsterdam Schiphol, with dinner. Others were booked at the Sheraton (WorldBusiness/Business Elite) and Ibis (coach).

We'll see how today goes. The plane is parked at the same gate, so either they're still working on it, or they got it fixed and parked it back at the gate.

No, it's not a typo. They did an equipment swap. N812NW arrived at about 7:45ish, from what I hear from the other passengers. I wasn't at the gate yet.
