It certainly looks like most of these are related to the LGA slot swap. Anyone know if that is why these are being added?

Thanks for the clarification. I took the last OAG and then compared it against what was on Delta.com today. Before today, there was no DTW-YHZ for sale in April, so I just figured that it was a new flight.

Looks like RDU gets +1 LGA.

So no return of SLC. No return of LAX. No return of 3rd MSP. No return of 12th ATL.

MEM stays the same. IND stays the same. JFK down to 2. BOS down to 3. DTW stays the same.

Sounds about normal these days...

Interesting, we're starting to see more mixing of the narrowbody fleet through the hubs. I like it.

No problem.

After taking a closer look at all these flights, it's obvious that DL has too many 50 seaters still. This summer, this is how many 50 seaters each legacy airline will own or have operating for them:

AA 214
UA Approx. 150
CO 221
US 122 (not including DH3s)
WN 0

DL Approx. 425 50 seaters!

I know DL is the biggest airline, but even proportionally they have ton more 50 seaters than all the rest. Also keep in mind that AA and CO only have 25 50+ seat regional jets between them so that makes DL's number even crazier. I know DL is trying to get rid of these planes but there's no way they can shed them very quickly so I think most of these flights were added just to use planes they have no use for.

The sentiment is certainly shared up here in CMH too. Glad to have the 4th daily CMH-MSP return, but was anxiously hoping for the return of SLC and/or LAX in one form or another.

My hope is that as Northwest aircraft are introduced into Delta hubs and visa versa, and with the addition of new services such as LAX-SYD and SLC-NRT, that service from LAX and SLC to PIT/CMH/RDU/BDL will eventually return.

When was the last time there were 4x CMH-MSP? I was under the impression that it has been 3x (usually all DC9s) for several years now.

CMH-MSP was upgraded to 4x daily last year as a seasonal increase. CMH-DTW was also increased from 6x daily to 7x daily during the same timeframe. Both extra flights were operated with CR2s. My hope also is to see larger aircraft running CMH-DTW as the new and upgraded Pacific flights come online from DTW. Asia traffic is huge from CMH and Northwest has traditionally been the carrier of choice for that area of the world from here. CMH-DTW not long ago had multiple DC-9s running the route; it would be nice to have at least a few CR9s thrown in.

I feel LAX-CMH/RDU/BDL could be operated with 319s.
When will see the majority of the shifting of equipment at SLC where Airbus usage will go way up and down @ MSP where they will be getting more M88s & M90s?
The 319 would be good equipment for SLC-CMH/RDU/BDL. Too bad DL doesn't have any E90/95s as this would be a great a/c for some of these flights that possibly don't need the capacity of the 319 but need more than the E75 & CR9s.

I was hoping DL would revive the ACV-SLC flight for the summer. Maybe return to year round service after the economy recovers. When they pulled out last September, they said they would return this summer starting in June. Considering connections through UA's hub in SFO can be a nightmare due to wx, connections through SLC on DL were a dream when traveling east. I flew on that route twice last summer and the aircraft were pretty full. Connections towards the east via LAX and SEA on QX are not convenient. I guess I could fly DL out of MFR but that is 4 hours of mountain driving.

I'm leavin on a jet plane. Don't know when I'll be back again....

Well, some will be parked, for sure. I'm not sure if they've really started to shed them. Managment has said that they would reduce the amount of 50 seaters. However, the SAABs are to be replaced by RJ50s, also.

BTW, just to put things in perspective, after the Northeast merger in '71, DL had 173 a/c in the fleet.

ACV-SLC is not a Delta decision. The sole reason it existed was local government was guaranteeing the costs for SkyWest to operate it.
