Just coming out now, a really small plane makes a safe emergency landing in the northbound lanes of the NJ Turnpike.

Plane was handling traffic reports for a Philly TV station.

No injuries, and the turnpike's lef shoulder remains open until they need to get the plane off.

Near Cherry Hill, NJ....which for everyone else, is very south Jersey, right across from Philly.

How did he do that if it is during rush hour so I have to assume the road was full of cars? Kind of like that commerical in LA when the plane comes up from behind.

Good job to the pilot.

“The plane landed, he taxied it over into the shoulder. We can’t even get motorists to do that when they break down.”

LOL!!

I saw that in an episode of CHiPs.... In the show Ponch and Jon slowed down traffic behind the plane thus clearing a path in traffic. There was a landing on I-75 south of Detroit a few years ago. Some trucks saw it and slowed traffic to make room for the plane to land on the road ahead. I would bet something like thap happened here.
