Last weekend American Eagle loaded first class inventory in their reservations systems effective July 2, 2010. A quick scan showed these markets and number of flights:

Chicago - Atlanta - 7 Dallas/Fort Worth - Cleveland - 4
Chicago - Buffalo - 1 Dallas/Fort Worth - Little Rock - 7
Chicago - Cleveland - 2 Dallas/Fort Worth - Milwaukee - 3
Chicago - Detroit - 2
Chicago - Little Rock - 1
Chicago - Minneapolis - 4
Chicago - Newark - 3
Chicago - Omaha - 2
Chicago - Oklahoma City - 1
Chicago - Philadelphia - 4
Chicago - Rochester NY - 1
Chicago - Salt Lake City - 3
Chicago - Washington (DCA) - 5
Chicago - Tulsa - 1

Good news for those looking to upgrade, although no meal service is shown at this time.

There are probably other markets that I missed, but I am confident fellow A-neters will add to this.

Looks like AA is jumping on the RJ First class band wagon.I guess UA's First class on their CR7's and E170's is paying off since others are starting to follow suit...

So is July 2 the start date for ALL these cities? If so, then I don't really understand it. Is AA getting all these CRJs retrofitted on the same day or what? I would think that the 2 class CRJs would be gradually phased in.

The first planes will start arriving soon enough (I think late March), but until the entire fleet is fitted, First Class will simply by sold as Y, seats can be pre-selected only by elites.

Wonderful. So currently the 2x 738 on ORD-EWR get cut and 3x CR7 get added along with the S80s.

All CR7 flights will have F. If RDU has CR7s scheduled, it will have F.

I see. That's weird though. I wonder why they wouldn't introduce them as they come online. Surely there's some potential for extra revenue there versus just selling these seats as coach and letting elite pax preselect them. Hmm.

Such potential is not worth it when you consider what the hassle of scheduling a CR7 subfleet for only three months.

besides it's a good way to introduce the product to elites who have a potential to want to buy them after trying them.

Will the F config be 1-2 on the CR7s? What about the seat, same seat as mainline or something new/different?

What will First Class service be like on the CR7's? Beverage service only or will they have prepackaged snacks like UA does on the CR7? Also will they have glass cups or will I just get a beverage in a plastic cup?

My understanding is that two will be delivered in June.

It will be the same service that is offered on mainline flights.

Well it looks like with these changes the MKE-ORD late afternoon CRJ has been rotated out and changed to an ERD.

Too bad that 3:25 MKE-DFW isn't a CRJ for the Miami connections or I'd be paying for the discounted F - although this is probably good for the savings plan

At last, I will start enjoying my conections in ORD towards CMH. As from MIA and FLL, I usually find the best fares through ORD and not through DFW, were you can get upgraded on the M80 towards CMH. But now, going to CMH through ORD will be available in F. If only AA changed the nonstop MIA-CMH to a CR7.

They're saving it for the nonstop MKE-MIA flight
