Swiss New A330-300: When Are The Remaining Due?

Hello all,

I understand that Swiss now have 5 of their new A333 aircraft (out of a total of 11?). Does anyone know when the next ones are due and which routes they are going on? Any chance they will put one on their ZRH - ORD route? I know they had one on for about 6 months, but they now operate using A332 or A343s.

As I know 9 should be delivered till 2011. But I really don't know if there are 9 or 11 ordered. The first order was for sure 9 but a consistent rumor came up that SWISS will take over two more. This means therefore 26 or 24 long-haul frames (15 343 and 9 or 11 333).

Thanks. From where do you have the info? On the SWISS page they still say: "four by 2009 and five more till 2011".

Yes, I think they changed recently or very soon. All 333 have the new C seat. The 343 will get them eventually.

LX already operates ZRH-ORD with the A330-300.

Seems like LX temporarily moved ORD back to the 343. I am flying LX9 in May and was booked on the A333 in F, but it's now back to A343.

I too am booked in F in May and was originally on the A333. As you say it's now showing on the A343. What's quite worrying is that at least one day each week for the past 3 weeks, they have operated the flight on an A332. I can cope with the A343, but would be quite disappointed by the A332.

The 332 will be phased out and entirely replaced by the 333. Nevertheless with 11 333 in addition to the 15 343 they expand the long-haul fleet. Next new destination will be SFO in Summer.

HB-JHF and HB-JHG should be delivered by the end of March, one more too follow in August and another one in december this would bring the total fleet of A333's to 9 aircraft. Normally LX should also receive another 2 in the first quarter of 2011.

BTW: Any news if an A343 was upgraded already with the new Business Class?
