I am curious about the passenger doors on the new 747-8. Do the doors remain the swing-open type, or did Boeing change the design to be like the 787 or 777 doors? Does anyone out there know the answer?

I believe they are the same as on older 747 models (maybe not literally the same ... but they work in the same manner)

They do indeed swing open, like the 744 doors. I'll upload pics tonight.

I'd rather shoot BAD_MOTIVE

Of note, there is only ONE main entry door on the -8F door 5L is no longer there.

It does look like a slide pack is fitted to door 1L just for the flight tests as there will be Boeing personnel on the main deck.

What about the upper deck door on the -8F, is it the same as the 100/200 series where the door falls inwards and slides backwards?

The customer is always right.....unless he is a passenger!

Yes should be the same as the -100/200 and -400F.
