Karachi Airport - Is It Modern

Has anyone flown from or to Karachi airport in pakistan. If you have what were your first impressions. Is it any good from inside and outside. I heard they do not have shopping facilities.

Its one of the better airports i have seen.Infact in every way its a modern and good looking airport.There is even internet access avalilable at the airport now.i dont know who told u there are no shopping facilities there ..... ok they are not as comprehensive as DXB but there are certainly there.

I have been there thrice. However, it's nothing compared to the likes of Hong-Kong, Changi or Schipol etc. The design/ambience is also a bit of a "blast from the past" but it still serves your basic amenities and it is one of the better third world airports.

I was there a year ago and was very surprised at how modern it was, its true its decor is a bit outdated now but it must have been really good for the time when it was built. Does anyone know if it is due for renovation soon? and what about the plan to add two more satellites?
