To my knowledge the moving maps are no longer allowed after the failed Christmas Day bombing attempt. A bummer...

Huh? This is totally untrue.

CO does not have a moving map on the LiveTV aircraft. I'm not aware of any definite plans to add it either.

Interesting. I just assumed that when they installed the liveTV it would feature a map. Isn't jetBlue's company installing the TVs?

I do hope they add a map. It is a lovely feature!

It certainly surprised me that they didn't. I seem to remember some people asked the DirectTV rep on some of the early flights (they had a rep on board to help with any technical difficulties) and they didn't even understand what was meant by a map channel.

I could almost bet I saw some kind of map on my last flight. LiveTV costs $6 and it's good overall.

Does the live TV work on flights such as SEA-ANC , LAX-HNL, and EWR-SJU just to name a few?

Nope, but there is recorded content available when you are overwater or outside the range of the satellites.

There are now 66 DTV aircraft...mostly 738s, all 739ERs, one 739 and the first 73G is being installed now...
At some point the safty demo will be part of the system, but meanwhile.. it's given the live human touch..

Why did CO not install them on the 757-300 they just got from Boeing when they were retrofitting them, I think they were ex ATA planes? A friend on mine flew on one from IAH-LAX yesterday and said there was nothing as far as in-flight entertainment.

When did Co add this feature on the website or has it always been there?

That feature had been on the CO website since the start of the LiveTV installation. I believe they also had a similar timeline for AVOD on the 772s and 752s. There's also one regarding the installation of the new BF lie-flat seats. What they do not mention is which planes will have them and which plane is on queue for installation.

Please tell me it won't be the same "I'm Larry Kellner" video?

It's the new "I'm Jeff Smisek" video, which have been posted for different planes on YouTube. Actually, the safety videos have been modified, rather than redone.

What they do tell you is if your specific flight will have AVOD or LiveTV or nothing. Starting 2 days out from when your flight departs you can see what amenitities your flight will have along with its type and aircraft number.

Always wonderers if this "last and final boarding call" is in fact THE last and final boarding call.

Just one standard 737-900? When I was at the LiveTV hangar at the JetBlue celebration in October, ship 402 was being fitted with the system at the time.

I thought more standard -900s were scheduled for the installation? If ship 402 really is the only one, are there plans to fit the rest?

Whew! The moment I heard Kellner was "pursuing other interests," the countdown to the end of his intro began.
