I read today in rj.com/ news that they will be adding two A330 this year. I wonder where will they get them from.
another interesting thing in this news that in 2011 they will replace 4 A320 and 2 A321 with newly built aircraft. Didn't RJ have all their A320/321/319 delivered new to the airline in the past three years?
Any comments or inside info appreciated.

Possibly the aircraft formerly operated by Air Comet? These were quite new (line numbers in the mid to high 900s) and I don't think they've been spoken for yet.
Presumably RJ wants these to fill in for the late 787s; will they be taking the opportunity to replace some of the older A310s as well?

the air comet 332 are P&W engines i dought RJ will take them, i would assume more likely maybe from GF, since they are RR equiped and with RJ servicing IAEV2500 which are half RR so i think it makes more sense.

That would make sense, they're being maintained across the street at BEY.
Quoting ivo (Reply 4): They will take 4 A330-200 ex Air Comet parked at Bordeaux and Munich.
How many are there? I remember 4, so 1 at Bordeaux, another at Munich, a third currently at MASCO and the fourth previously worked on at MASCO, possibly still somewhere at BEY? I suppose then the ones in Beirut won't be going to Royal Jordanian.

The 787s are supposed to replace the A310s and the A342s. So the 330s are probably a temporary replacement to the A310s until the 787s are delivered. The question is why refurbish the A342s now? When do RJ expect to start taking delivery of 787s?

Quoting ramzi (Reply 13): Will the entire A330 fleet be refurbished?
Is it purchased or leased?
I think this refers to their current situation; the A330s which were operated by Air Comet were in a relatively high density configuration, so RJ will probably want these aircraft reconfigured with the same J Class seats as the A340, as well as 8 abreast in Economy (I think Air Comet had nine abreast?)

Ah I see. They have 259 Y seats on the A330 so they are probably 9 abreast. They will definitely reconfigure them, and I would guess they are leased but I don't know.

The ex-Air Comet A330-200s definitely not 9 abreast...
Economy looks like RJ could get away with just some new seat-covers, although they would probably want to install their own Business seats.

hi RJAF,
From my knowlege with RJ currently all their A320's family which are exactly 12 aircrafts in their fleet are all brand new with the new interiors, beautifull crown class seats and AVOD in both cabins! What the hell are they talking about regarding replacing old A320's . does not make sense!

The Air Comet A330's are still being listed as available by the lessor?

Has anyone seen what their new J-seat will look like? I really think RJ a great little niche carrier, they seem to be making huge progress with regard to the quality of their branding and product. Just need a new uniform I feel something more modern and fresh!!! Do they hire foreign FAs or only Jordanian ones? The A330s will make a great contribution there!
