When will LAX be constructing the new runway and which side have they decided on, north or south?

Is LAX also planning on building new concourses, or expanding on existing ones?

Any information is helpful.

Regards, DIA

Actually, the LAX authorities have decided NOT to build a new runway--it's a case of no room available.

What they do plan to do is rebuild several terminals and rebuild the taxiways for better traffic flow, especially at the International terminal.

The recomeneded master plan shows no new runways. The two northern runways will be reconfigured and lengthened. A new west terminal with midfield concourses has also been recomended. This is only what has been recomended and might not actually happen.

Go to www.laxmasterplan.org for an overview.

It would be hard to build a new runway at LAX. Simply there is no space.

An engineer on the project told me that 24R will be relocated further to the North.
