Have any of you been following the long thread in PPRUNE titled "SQ006 Revisited"? I just checked in today and the tail end of it discusses inflight shutdowns on their 777s, management coverups, the threat to 180 ETOPS clearance and perhaps even a rescinding of 120 minutes for the airline. I haven't heard anything about this and haven't seen anything here on the board. Maybe I missed a topic.
Does anyone have onfo on this? It sounds from PPRUNE that SIA management and its pilots are not on good terms. I also checked ICAO but was unable to find any info on inflight shutdown rates for the different engine types. Does anyone know where we can find such data? Historical info on other twins such as the 767, 300 and 330 would also be appreciated. Thanks.

I can't help you with the stats you're trying to find, but I can beleive at least some of the accusations levelled against SIA, and it's management & safety culture.
For one, there are a number of rather serious incidents involving SIA a/c, including a stall incident over Bulgaria (B744), a runway overrun and another stalling incident over the Bay of Bengal (A310, I believe).
SQ also certainly seem to be short of aircrew at the moment-at least for the B777 & B744 fleets-there have been continous vacancies for these a/c, and an ad appears in Flight International almost every week-whether this means aircrew are leaving SQ en masse is open to interpretation, but judging by the posts on pprune, the atmosphere between management & aircrew at SQ seems particularly nasty.
The incidents mentioned above seem to have been rather serious, and in both stalling incidents, aircrew are reported to have not become aware of any abnormalities until the a/c was well into it's stalling position!
The crash at TPE reflects a problem with CRM at SQ IMO (amongst other causal factors).
Certainly an airline with problems, but certainly not the only one.

All staff will be getting 6 months pay bonus.
All Flight Crew, (captains, ...) will have an increase in pay as negotiated by ALPAS (Airline Pilots Association of Singapore). This three year argument has finally closed. And a good thing for Cheong.
It is disturbing to hear about comments saying that Asian pilots in particular think they're "king of the castle" and are not to be questioned, especially in the case of Singapore Airlines. I hope this is soon resolved.
Capt.Picard. I know you participate in Pprune. Is this sad work culture partly to do with pay?
