I was reading the lastest issue of Airliners and saw a photo of a Horizon CRJ700...I was very impressed with the size of this RJ...Compared to the original it seems higher off the ground and you won't need a neck brace after the flight due to the windows...Am I correct in recalling American Eagle placing an order for these RJ's a while back? If so they will be a HUGE improvement over the EMJ's they use now. What hubs and/or cities will they grace with their presence?

American Eagle placed 25 firm orders, and 25 options on this aircraft in 1999.
They are due for delivery this summer.
However, there is a slight problem.
The last contract that the AE pilots signed with AMR (owner of AA and AE), included a part that said any jets with over 50 seats must pay the same as the large airliners. This doesn't affect the ATR-72 because it is not a jet, and it does not affect the ERJ's because they are not more than 50 seats. AA placed the orders for the 70 seats CRJ's in hopes that they could work out a new deal with the pilots before the planes arrived.
I recently read in one of the airplane magazines that no deal has been reached and that AMR will not pay its AE pilots the same as the AA pilots. There is a strong possibility that American Eagle will have to sell these planes.
I really hope that the planes to fly for AE because it is one of my favorite airlines, and the CRJ's are definitely my favorite short-haul aircraft.

I was out there at DFW the day the photo in Airways was taken. My good friend, Josh Rawlin, took the photo. My photo of the same aircraft will be in next issue of Airliners. Bombardier Aerospace, manufacturers of the CRJ, brought the plane down to DFW for AA and AA Eagle employees to look it over. My photo is also shown on Airliners.net

I really hop AE goes with the CRJ700....From what I see it will be the only regional jet I wouldn't mind taking over an AA F-100 or MD-80...Is it high enough to hook up to a jetway without any extra equipment?
