Back in the 1970s-80s U.S. airlines operated widebody equipment on a number of what seemed to be 'highly unlikely' routes for aircraft seating 250+ pax. In view of the reality that, in those days, a healthy load factor was ~60%...

...what are some examples of U.S. domestic routes operated by widebody equipment in the '70s-'80s that put up average load factors of around 60% or better ...and what are some examples of widebody routes that were well below 60%? Since 'hard numbers' will probably be elusive at best, 'educated guesstimates' based on experiences of those who were 'there' are fine.
