It looks like an OpenSkies 752 flew BCN-BGR-ABQ yesterday. Does anyone know the reason for the visit?

The reason New Mexico is so windy is because Texas sucks and Arizona blows.

Openskies is a big player in the charter market so it was probably doing some charter work.

Interesting.

You may already have noticed in FlightAware that from time to time, international airlines will clear customs at ABQ before sending planes on to ROW for work/storage/etc. For instance, AC flies YYZ-ABQ-ROW with some regularity.

However this one is apparently something different.

These are openskies planes and are not part of the BA 757. It was probably a charter as they have been doing some. Fedex I beleive are the buyer of the remaining 12 BA 752s.

Since they abandoned their AMS route OpenSkies have carved themselves a successful niche in the premium long haul charter market. Their aircraft - as photos on a-net confirm - have been seen all over the world from PEK to MIA.

A significant specialist market for them appears to be the trans-Atlantic sports team market. Here are photos of their aircraft carrying Real Madrid to Canada and the St Louis Blues to Sweden:

Is it possible that their BCN-BGR-ABQ-EWR-(BCN?) flight was a sports charter?
