Why has Capital Cargo had a 727 sitting on the Atlantic ramp for several weeks now in PHL without moving it? Is it damaged or WFU?

Damaged, apparently had a loading incident and sat on it's tail and possibly spun around in the wind.

So that's the one that did the tail tip over a month ago? Do you know if they plan on repairing it or will it be scrapped onsite?

Apparently it is the same one. I don't work for them but I would imagine it will be fixed but I have no idea, just heard it through the freight dog grapevine that it had happened.

I will see if I can find out who insures CCI and see if they are gonna scrap it or what not. Who loads Capital Cargo at PHL? Is it BAX/Schenker or a contract company?

I remember it being towed down there a while ago. Can't believe it's still there. Evergreen International is their ground svc provider.

I wouldnt imagine that it would take much damage to be considered a write off. There are a number of good quality 727's available dirt cheap right now. Astar parked a whole fleet of young (78-81 models) over the past year.

Sad waste of a good 727, hopefully she'll see the skies again. What an amazing aircraft.
