American Airlines (AMR 9.3 ↑1.20%) reported a February load factor of 75.5 percent, an increase of 1.5 points versus the same period last year. Traffic decreased 2.2 percent and capacity decreased 4.2 percent year over year.

Domesic numbers show that there are still a lot of business flyers who have cut back on travel. In 2008, my wife renewed her gold status for '09 before the end of November. In '09, even with the double miles promotion, she didn't fly enough to renew her status.
So far this year, she has only had 2 trips.
In talking to friends who travel for business, they are also traveling less, simply relying more on conference calls rather than getting people from several locations into one location for a meeting.
