At least 4 of the ex Qantas NZ BAE 146's will join the NZ domestic fleet for expansion over the next few months. These aircraft will be introduced on routes linking the 3 main cities with smaller cities such as Hamilton, Rotorua, Queenstown and Invercargill.
I also understand more ATR 72-500 series aircraft will join the fleet over the next few months.
The increase in services is due to the demise of Qantas NZ last month.

Just went to ANZ webiste, and saw it in the Media Releases. They say that they are going to hire the QF NZ staff to fly them! another publicity point for ANZ!
It seems rather strange as they are no way in line with their other fleet, but I guess they could source parts from AN. But makes perfect sense to use them. Ill have to get a photo as we may never see a BAe 146 in ANZ colours ever again

BAe 146's/RJ's are great aircraft!
I wonder how much one costs to buy/lease these days?
These aircraft are especially good on short runways.
I think that a BAe 146 can take off on a 1,400m runway with 100 pax and all that. Not to mention the four engines and its reputation as a quiet aircraft.
