I was spotting at MKE today, enjoying the wonderful weather here and around 1:30 PM there was a FL 717 taking off on 25L I believe and there was a FL 737 landing. The 737 did a routine go around and turned left around the parking structure while the 717 was still wheels down around the cargo ramp area fopr FED EX. Really a non event just wanted to share it. I am curious if it was a controller error or pilot error.
If anyone at MKE as any info that would be appreciated.

I believe that this was the arriving flight here:

And this was the departing flight here:

Neither. Error would be when one of the planes crashes.

Why do Aerospace Engineering students have to turn things in on time?

No that would be a fatal error. This was just a hiccup. Someone either cleared the aircraft to depart or the departing aircraft misunderstood his instructions causing a go around. I am aware that it happens more than we think however at MKE at 1:30 pm someone made and error.

Since when does an error have to include the loss of life?

Who said anything about loss of life, all BMI said was when a plane CRASHES, big difference there.

So I'll rephrase the question just for you.

Since when does an error have to include a plane crash?

Better?

Hey you're wound too tight pal, you should lighten up a bit. I was merely answering your original question.

I'd probably be in a better mood if NG hadn't pulled out of the tanker deal. But that's another story, lol.

Maybe it was take your child to work day at MKE.    .

I am assuming the MKE will have to file a report with the FAA on this or am I wrong?

Flood and FX maybe we all need to get together over a beer and discuss this?? I do know of a few good watering holes here in MKE.

It doesn't. The phrase controller error means that less than standard separation existed at a particular spot, no loss of airframe or life has happened.

No assumptions, and usually no report is filed other than possibly an entry on the tower supervisor log, if that even.

Yep, that was very well done!

I could use a cold beer for sure. I'm off work in 8 minutes.

Thanks for that information. I was not sure what the procedure was. I worded my question poorly.

Non-event.

But since there's a thread I though I'd throw in that my only go-around was at MKE in a YX/RW E70. Seperation issues.

Just say NO to scabs.
