Whats the story with this airline? I have heard that it is unstable, but I dunno, I live in NY. What are there plans, aircraft orders? Anything? For some strange reason I doubt Ill ever fly them.........

Varig will receive 2 777s and 8 next generation 737s this year. Its true that the company is having a hard time puting a profit lately, mostly due to overexpansion in the 1997 to 1999 period. Then our currency was devalued and the companys costs in dollar skyrocketed.
It has a pretty good service overall.

BTW, why will U never fly them?

Seeing that Brazil is the single largest market is S. America and 50% of Latin America traffic stems from Brazil, Varig is in an enviable position in the long term. The fact that one of its competitors has been brought down on its knees is a bonus.
